Why click on the thread then? A person requesting prayers has communicated their personal belief in the power of prayer and is asking others with a similar belief to be in prayer for a specific situation.

On a board like these where you interact with the same people over and over you tend to feel like you "know" them, even though you don't. It lends to a greater level of connection and concern for others.

People's livelihood has been impacted. It's not pleasant and is certainly "prayer worthy" for other believers.

I've taken the one minute needed to pray for this family. It doesn't take long. This response may take more out of my day than my prayer did.
