Jules is smart, he knows Jimmy holds all the cards so he has to play it that way.

Jules held the cards at the diner bc he knew if he wanted Honeybunny and Pumpkin woulda been dead as fried chicken.

Lucky for them they caught him in a transitional time in his life.


Same as with Flock of Seagulls and Brett. He can play ringmaster bc he's got them unprepared (even though they shoulda had shotguns). But bc of Marvin not telling them about the 3rd guy a Seinfeld lookalike in the bathroom with a hand cannon, Jules realizes that even when he holds the cards some unexpected shite coulda went down. and not only taken him out of the life but his life. so he assesses the future and decides he'd rather walk the earth and nail his vegetarian (which pretty much makes him a vegetarian) GF than have to account on unreliable ex Madtv informants to keep his arse alive. He lives in a world where miracles are a one time thing and a bumpy road can get you shot in the face. even being a bum is safer. a fricking bum.

but he's not a bum. he's gonna be the shepherd.
