Yes, he's said several times that since right field is the sun field at home he wants someone there that will be in the lineup every day, can get used to dealing with it, and likely won't be as affected by it.

Foster was in right early last year but when he didn't hit Laird was moved back.

I can see this being a big reason and understand.
