I have absolutely no dog in the fight here, and I just started watching EPL last year. One thing that has stuck out to me is how judgement decisions affect the outcome of games more than other sports (seemingly). For example, the Liverpool-Southhampton game: Was the 4' minute contact a PK? Most seem to think it was, and that would have changed the entire flow of the game. Additionally, was Mingolet outside of the box with the hand ball? If the refs call that, Liverpool is down a man with a back-up keeper.

For another example, see Chelsea versus Burnley. The issue with soccer is there are relatively few goal-scoring opportunities, and so many are in the hands of 50-50 judgment calls; if they go against you it is a conspiracy, if they go for you it is good fortune.

Yes.

Upgrade.

In all seriousness, I think replay needs to be implemented for important calls. Penalties, offside calls (especially when they are called after the ball is in the net), etc.
