When they put on that tape of him against USCe in 2012 as a Junior, and then the tape of him MAULING Myles Garrett in College Station this year he'll get a hard look as a guard initially but he is so athletic I think he will also get consideration as a legitimate RT-and perhaps even a LT-candidate once he gets into Mini-camp with whomever drafts him.

He's getting a little Twitter love this morning
quote:
@MoveTheSticks: Really impressed by LSU OT La El Collins...moving with ease.

@ArthurArkush: RT @MoveTheSticks > Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner said he's OL w/ def mentality.

@CoachBillick: LSU OT La'el Collins winning the day so far in early drills. Impressive feet...looked really good in exaggerated pass set drill.

I think that the cross-training and experience at multiple positions would be an asset for the roster-limited NFL - I mean a kid who may not play that much as a rookie - and is a credible option at 4 out of 5 positions (only center would be a stretch) - particularly as a backup, might be the difference in playing a few years then leaving the league and staying on as a backup for a decade or more - they'll try to pay him guard money in that circumstance, but being the first guy off the bench with any OL injury has got to be a great asset to a team.
If he starts young, I think it will be at guard - and the more he plays the position, the less likely he will go back to tackle. But a "utility" lineman might be his best long-term option.
