I think Simmons has a quicker first step than Lebron. I think he would beat Lebron in the 40, cones, or shuttle. Lebron was bigger and more muscular at the same age. Just not taller.

Lebron also did not have as good of an outside shot in HS. Simmons has decent range and will just get better. Some weight room time will bring him to a whole different level, though where he is now is freakish.

I also hope that Simmons pending arrival keeps some of the other kids in school, just for a chance to play with a kid of his caliber.

You can tell that Simmons has been in the weight room this season. Compare pictures of the two in their Sr. years. Lebron wasn't really THAT much bigger than Simmons is now. I suspect Simmons will be listed at 6'9" 235-240 lbs in his first game for LSU

I love Simmons' game and think he will be awesome for LSU but this simply is not true. I almost hesitated to respond because I don't want to become involved in a pissing contest or be accused of trashing the kid.

Lebron has always been comfortable on the perimeter wheras if I had to pick a weakness in Simmons game, that would be it. As a senior Lebron was 60-157 from 3pt range (@38%) in 27 games. He was 171-477 for his high school career (@36%)
In 28 games this year, Simmons is 15-51(@29%). At this stage, the 3 is not a huge part of his arsenal however he does seem to have good form and should improve.
