I remember a decent thread about collecting these a year or so ago that sparked my interest. I was cruising a local pawn shop on my lunch break and came across a model 220K. I gave the guy $20 for it. I think I did okay. He had $29.99 on it.

Quick research reveals they stopped making these in 1983 but it's not rare by any means.

How'd I do for my first piece?

Well done. Those white gas lanterns seem to burn brighter than the newer propane one. The only pesky thing about them is that leather grommet in the pump wearing out.

All you need now is the case.

You can find them on eBay for about $20.

Hot summer nights pops used to hang 4-5 of those on the stumps at Bussey Brake about dusk. The skeeters and bugs would get all over em, burn to death and fall in the water attracting bait fish. About 10 o'clock the perch would be all over them. Fish one lamp, catch 10-12 ease over to the next one. Do it all night. Fun shite.

My father and uncle would used one at night on the Atchafalaya to catch catfish.
