Team is not that talented. They don't make free throws, rebound and are careless with the basketball. People always talk about how talented we are. I think its time you look in the mirror and just realize we aren't that talented. Plus we have absolutely no depth.

We may not be "that talented" but look around the SEC. Only UK and maybe Arkansas have more talent

they are talented but missing a couple key pieces. poorly coached and lacking in fundamentals, discipline and basic concepts of the game.

but all that will be just fine next year!

I don't think you understand the difference between talented and disciplined

Bc what you described is discipline

Exactly. There are dumbasses on this site that say this year's team is more talented than the 2006 team and 1st team all sec pg Darrel Mitchell(2006) wouldnt get any playing time in this year's backcourt.
We dont have a single player that will , without a doubt, make a NBA roster.

We have no depth, but we are talented. I don't think it was JJ's coaching that had UK up against the ropes late in the game. It was our talent. We have two of the top 5 scorers and the 2nd and 3rd leading rebounders along with the #1 shot blocker in the SEC in our starting lineup. Martin and Mickey could end up being NBA guys, TQ is a tall guy that can hit 3s, Hornsby is fast and can light up teams from 3-point range, Gray was the highest scorer coming out of JUCO and Patterson is an extremely promising looking freshman that also drains 3s. We may be missing a true center, but we have talent.

Year 3 guys. No reason for any of this at this point. We have some physical talent (Martin, Mickey, Hornsby) but not enough SEC caliber guards that are consistent and no bench at all. Year 3.

The Triple M's (Including Musselman) will be gone after this season and what's going to happen next year when we flame out and not reach our potential again with Simmons and Blakeney.

There's one constant........

You realize the things you listed have very little to do with talent? They have way more to do with effort, hustle, and coaching.

Not entirely true. They do have talent but if you go to City Park and watch the pickup games going on out there, that's what LSU basketball has become.

A recreational pickup team playing in the SEC.

Coaching? This is a repeat of Dale Brown coached teams. Dale could recruit. No doubt. But this is the same ole story with LSU Basketball. Get a guy who can recruit (not named Trent Johnson who could not coach or recruit) and then win games on whatever talent you have without the benefit of in game coaching ability. JJ is a Dale Brown clone. Those teams were highly undisciplined, could not shoot free throws as a team and had very little offensive strategy or organization. X's and O's were void in that era of LSU basketball as well.

Then maybe he needs to look in the mirror for recruiting untalented guys and leaving us with no bench. One way or another, he's the coach. It rises and falls on him.

Just how long have you been watching basketball ? 2 or 3 years? what a stupid statement. Martin and Mickey on the same team, the leading scorer in the JC ranks , and as much depth as we've had in 15 years.LSU got just who Daddy Dale and Collis Temple wanted. The Bag Man was hand picked. He strangely reminds me of another LSU coach, if you can call him that.
