After reading the update, Becker is better off shutting his damn mouth. He might get more out of what will be an inevitable settlement. He doesn't want to talk about drinking (he has that right, but it's also 99.99999 percent guilt and 17 year old males are SLOPPY drinkers at events like Mardi Gras). He admits to pushing the cop ("not like that" or whatever...still, uniformed or not, you pushed). Shut up, kid. Let your lawyer do the talking. Jesus.

Yea, the kid is not doing himself any favors by giving statements to the media. "I might have laid my hands on him" is not the right answer.

His lawyer doesn't seem to be much smarter. "Alcohol is irrelevant here." Uh, no it's not.

Is is right for a cop to just start punching a kid in the face, or should he have been trying to subdue him?

I could be okay with it if they were standing up and the kid was punching him, but from what I saw, the kid was laying on the ground trying to protect himself and the cop was T-ing off like he was in a bar fight or something

Actually it's totally irrelevant. Underage drinking doesn't require an MMA style beating of a high school kid. The cop has to be the level headed, cool person in that situation. He just wasn't. And the cop said a girl went after his gun while he was fighting with the kid. Dude's totally full of shite.
