Wind Waker is different though because Nintendo began by putting out badass pictures of Gannon and Link in a style similar to OoT and MM and then went with the cartoon style.

I refused to play the game for a long time because of the drastic change and disappointment. If Nintendo doesn't begin by saying the game would look like OoT and MM then I think Wind Waker would have been received better.

I fall into this category. I had a great time playing it. It is actually a very solid Zelda game, but there really is no comparison:
