Which is actually kind of funny considering that the decline is only acknowledged by the hardcore fans.
Games like Twilight Princess received an almost unanimous 10 across the board to the overall audience, and any other review never dropped it below a 9.5.
The game is loathed amongst most of the long time fans though for its rehashing of content and similarity to the ocarina of time.
Decline is relative I suppose

I feel like every Zelda game catches a ton of hate from the "hardcore" fans and then like 5-10 years later its suddenly one of everyone's favorite in the series.
Look at Wind Waker for example.
