I thought it was already declining because of his works? The originals and OoT were the best, since then it's been average or above average, but nothing exceptional like Ocarina of time. He brought new ideas to the table in OoT and then just kept rolling them over after that

Which is actually kind of funny considering that the decline is only acknowledged by the hardcore fans.

Games like Twilight Princess received an almost unanimous 10 across the board to the overall audience, and any other review never dropped it below a 9.5.

The game is loathed amongst most of the long time fans though for its rehashing of content and similarity to the ocarina of time.

Decline is relative I suppose
