They outshot the US 39-16. Yeah, Craig almost single-handedly kept the US in the game. The US trailed for over 30 minutes in the game, and only held a lead in the final 10 minutes after Erruzione's goal. They were outplayed, but they got the breaks. that's the way hockey goes sometimes.
I love the Miracle on Ice, but let's not pretend we were not lucky as hell to beat the Russians. We were. That's kind of what makes it awesome. They play that game 100 times, USSR wins it 99 times. We just happened to get the one.

We were. Those kids played hard and not just in that game. They did not beat the Russians that night for the gold, but they still won it. Great team, great coach. They werent some scrub team that just got lucky.
