Just about every preview put out there trashed the game. A bit more hope picked up because the most recent builds were looking better, but I can't remember reading anything all that positive.

People were likely excited when it was first announced because of the settings and production values. It's a pretty game in a cool setting, it's lived up to that. (Some example articles: LINK LINK)

I'm reserving judgment until I actually play it, but I'm not expecting too much.
