Upvote. LSU gymnastics deserves more coverage because the readership interest is there. An average of 5,633 fans attended each LSU home meet in the 2014 season which makes it worthy of more coverage. Men's basketball by comparison is 8910. And it's getting more popular by the day at LSU based on how ridiculously talented the team is and how fun the meets are.

So gymnastics at it's best still draws significantly less attention than a basketball team that has been down for years and is in a rebuilding phase?

No argument here, but OP has to use perspective. It's opening weekend of the 2nd most popular sport at LSU. Plus, it was a road meet. Last time that I checked we are building them one hell of a practice facility on prime real estate on campus.
Not really sure where the butt hurt of the OP is coming from. Bitching about a newspapers coverage on this specific weekend was ill timed. IMO.

Do they include support staff and concessions vendors in that figure?
