Seeing this ad made me recall that I went to Sound Trek in 1984 for a Doorbusters Sale and for the princely sum of $49.00 became the owner of a cheap CD player.

CSNY-Deja Vu and Pink Floyd-The Wall were my two first discs.

I went to see Rush more than BOC, and they didn't disappoint, Rush rocked the house that night

No.

Sony released the first commercial CD player that year, the cdp-01, and it was $1200, Tony Campo (who owned Sound Trek) did not have a door buster sale on them for $49.
