Probably not. He's a good athlete, but LSU won't take a 5'11" pitcher in this class. If he is going to play outfield, maybe. There's certainly a place in the nation for him to play either sport. I'm not sure LSU is the place, but I'd happily take him.

What does height have to do with him being a pitcher? MLB has several success pitchers around 6 feet tall

Greg Maddux was listed at 6 foot. So he was probably closer to 5'11'' since they always add some. I think he turned out alright.

Ron Guidry was 5 11". USL or SW La or whatever they called L-Laffy back then.
1978 25-3 in the AL, with a 1.74 ERA.
