There is no reason why we can't challenge these teams for the top spot in the league.

Our SEC schedule works out really weird this year. For those who don't know, there are 13 teams (Vandy doesn't have softball). Each year, a team will play 8 series and have 4 teams that they don't play. So basically, the rotation in any given 3 year period is that you play each team at home one year, away another year, and not at all in a year.

That being said, this year we don't play Alabama at all. We play Florida away. We also have to travel to Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee. Tough road slate. Our home series are against some of the worst teams…Arkansas, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Auburn. Only Auburn figures to be even halfway decent. We legitimately should be 10-2, at WORST, at home.

Softball doesn't do divisions but it is bizarre how we end up hosting 4 West teams and traveling to 4 East teams.
