I actually chose NOT to go to BR High b/c of football.
Me, too. I was at MMM when Jindal was there (he was Piysh then), got accepted to BRHS but went to Lee because I wanted to experience football.
Looking back, stupid move on my part

I can't hate the decision b/c I somehow made good grades and went to LSU. But man so many of my friends were in and out of prison or dead a few years after HS. My parents were happy to get me in MMM to avoid Kenilworth.
You probably went to Lee with my oldest brother. Basketball player and big fan of Coach Almond(followed him to Woodlawn his Sr year).
ETA: I still remember Ms Scott for Algebra, Mr Harrelson and Mrs O'Rourkes English classes. Ms Potts for Geography.
Oh and Mr Marston's American History class(that's where I met Shelby Holmes RIP. Spanish Town ball Sat night was nice gesture to his legacy).

I too went to McKinley Middle then got accepted to BRHS. Then I moved to MS and had to go to public school and it was quite the culture shock. I was used to intelligent kids from many different races, then suddenly got dropped into a bunch of dumbass white and black kids. I didn't see an asian or indian kid for the next 3 years of high school! Then when I finally begged my dad to put me in private school, it was all white kids. Everything was so centered around sports, it is kinda sad. I mean, McKinley, BRHS and even the elem school I went to in BR had the coolest classes (sculpture, art, gymnastics, tap, jazz, ballet, german, calligraphy, etc) and then I move to MS and my option is Spanish.
