This makes no sense. The Patriot's offense uses option routes almost exclusively against the zone.

Pats and Brady have been playing like that for years with the exception of 07 with Moss.
Brady picks you apart with out routes and stop routes. He makes pre snap reads and knows who will be open based on defensive shifts while in his cadence.
