A play action pass is not going to get your route jumped.

There is no excuse, and Pete Carroll will live with it, along with his team.
He may have taken credit because that's what HCs are expected to do. I want to know what really happened though. Revell has a history (see the GIF above) of not running Lynch in obvious situations. I find it hard to believe that two NFL coaches (and not coaching the Raiders or Browns) agreed that it was the correct call at the time.

If you're wanting me to say that the OC shouldn't have called a shotgun pass in that situation, trust me, that's a given.

But, how does your head coach hear that call, and sit idly by and watch it play out, unless you are so clueless about that side of the ball, that you didn't even know what the call was.

I say he knew the call and allowed it to happen.
