They play at Olympia because they draw a crowd worthy of a stadium and that those fields weren't ready last season so they had no choice but to play there. They also generate funds at Olympia, which they can't do on campus, to help them pay for road trips to play teams such as FSU, Central Florida, and teams in their conference in Texas. LSU only gives them about $3000 to fund their team. Their operating budget is absolute peanuts compared to varsity sports at LSU but you wouldn't know it by looking at the product on the field. The players work during the off season by picking up trash in Tiger Stadium, running concessions in ALex Box, and paying dues of over $1,000 per player to fund their sport. These guys are non scholarship athletes who are truly passionate about their sport and pay to play! They come from programs across the country and from high schools in our state that are relatively new to lacrosse. They also are very talented and don't represent a typical "Club" team. Check them out and you will be proud and impressed that they represent LSU!
