I've only had one MRI before this most recent one, and it was on my ankle. So all I had was the bottom half of my leg in there. But this one was for my back, so I went all the way in. The guy was like "Are you claustrophobic?" and I said no, but man once you get in there, that thing is fricking CLOOOOSE to your face. I could easily see how it would freak a lot of people out. The one saving grace (for those people) is that you can look "up" with your eyes and see the ceiling out the other end of the machine, so it's not like you're in a coffin or something...you could see a way out.
I just tried my best to go to sleep and not move. And it only lasted about 15 minutes (the time with my ankle was a lot longer).
