beginners should shop craigslist for used good guitars.

Wouldn't have been my choice for a first guitar, got mine as second or third, after I knew how to play. Then again, it's his money, so more power to him.

As a beginner myself, I agree and disagree. I'm learning that the most important thing to do when looking for your first guitar is research.
I read articles and forum for about 3 months before I decided on which one was best for me.
There are several cheap guitars on CL but if you buy one that's not playable to your skill level. I think it's just a big waste. ....then again I could be wrong after all I am just a fuggjn newbie! lol
