Following the hurricane in south texas in aug 2017, I was without a house and had to go to Wally World for clothes

Started with a full set of architect drawings

No general contractors available, so decided to do it myself

Built to meet all hurricane specs except window impact, shutters as equivalent

Negotiated each craft with arch drawing and handshake

Except concrete, I bought materials and paid cash for labor

330 thousand dollars for 2600 sq feet living and 900 sq feet porch

ADA accessable to the extreme

County permit to start April 1, moved in Sept 15

Bought Popeyes chicken and beer for folks on site every Friday

This is my last project.

I noticed a couple pages back folks talking about making wood coffee tables. About 50 years ago my grandmothers cypress water cistern was being torn down and I got about a third of the wood. Cooperage grade cypress is a fine wood for tables and mantles. If you see one derelict jump on it for projects
