Had an idea for a new horizontal gun cabinet. They were getting rid of old furniture at work so i decided to refurbish this cabinet:
It was actually 2 separate cabinets held together by the top. I removed the top, fastened them together, and removed the middle section. Then I built a shelf and gun rests. Next I built a top out of oak.
Cool thing about the top is that I wanted easy access to the guns on top if need be. I added 2 soft close drawer sliders and here's how it works:
Sanded down, stained and added felt.
In use:
