While Gordon is a dumbass, I still think it is so goddamned stupid that we don't get to watch him play because he drinks alcohol and smokes weed.
It obviously doesn't hamper his performance on the field, and yet the NFL keeps him off the field because (i guess) they want all of their players to be some shining beacon of a role model to little kids around the country.
If Gordon gets arrested and goes to jail, I get it. Keep him off the field. Maybe suspend him for a few games for a DUI.
But the NFL actively goes out of its way to try and catch people smoking weed and drinking alcohol? frick, that's ridiculous. I don't really care if he's shooting up heroin on the weekends, so long as he's not harming others. I just want to see him go ham for 200 yards receiving on any given sunday.

Arguably the most ignorant most I've read on here since 2012 when someone wanted to fight me over LeBron James

Agreed. As long as a player isn't harming anyone off the field (potential or actual) or taking PEDs to gain an advantage on the opponent, I couldn't care less about what a player does or ingests in his down time.

Well, the NFL franchises who have an agreement to pay over 50% of league revenues to the players want to have a confidence that the players accept the responsibility that goes with that and who will play up to their potential. Part of that assurance is a drug policy that the players agree to up front.
It's a very reasonable expectation.
