It's hard to believe that Alabama wouldn't have found a way to fit him in the class, so I don't put too much stock in what was being said on that front. However, it's obvious that LSU appealed more to Valentine-Okeke than the others so there had to be some factors, but it may have just been the pursuit of Jeff Grimes and Les Miles that trumped the others efforts.

Yes, I recall in the last few days a few posters saying that Grimes had not been doing his share of top notch recruiting to match results of the other coaches, but with this latest commit and the other OL's already on board, he has done an outstanding job so far in filling this 2015 class with quality OL.

Wow, LSU looks masterful in this recruitment if Jimmy Smith has the accurate info.
1) Grimes stayed in touch with CVO even after the school change and maybe some diminished interest
2) T Valentine was used effectively to help in his recruitment
3) for those who say "if parents don't come on an OV, you have 0% chance"....nope, not true here
4) Not only Grimes, but Les Miles spent lots of time with him and stressed how important he was since LSU needs young OL to step up
5) Auburn might have made a strategic mistake in visiting him too early during the final decision making process...apparently once you visit in home, you can't do that again for 10 days (LSU moved in during that 10 day period AFTER Auburn to get the last word) But, but, but does that mean that Malzahn and Muschamp and Auburn staff aren't the Gods that some make them out to be

Oh, and for the record, CVO and Prince Tega are close friends...hmmm.
