I can't give you restaurant advice, but I saw your post in the OT, but I like the people here better.
I'd have them go to Pat O's even though it is "touristy". It's a cool place, and I'd go there if I lived there. Especially if the weather is nice.
Some things are touristy because they are there. Some things are touristy because they are worth going to. I think there are lots of the latter in NOLA, like Pat O's, WWII Museum, Cafe Du Monde, Zoo...
If someone comes to Savannah, I am going to take them to River Street even if it is touristy because it's a cool place to hang out. Just my 2 cents.
p.s. I am organizing LSU Savannah. I will get you an invite to our organizational meeting.
