Answers are all over. I used to workout bis on back day and tris on chest day. I started working them out on different days and both arm muscles grew bigger.
The key is to letting any muscle group healing at least 48 hours. So I workout 4 times a week and chest day is never within > 48 than my triceps day and same with back/biceps.

Yeah, I don't do back/bis or chest/tris on the same day anymore either. Do them separately so that I can hit various muscles twice in a 7 day span rather than only one time.
