For those of us (like myself) who genuinely don't know this stuff...what is the best thing to do then?

Like I said earlier I read that info in a book but it could obviously be not entirely accurate. What's wrong with fasted working out? Does it matter if you're more focusing on burning fat or building muscle?

eat something. When you exert yourself, your body need energy. Carbs, calories, etc.

No way is anyone who works out on an empty stomach for 10 hours going to get as good of a workout as someone with energy. You don't see any athletes playing a game on an empty stomach.

some books with proven research will say one thing. Other books with proven research will say the exact opposite.
