Just starting to research this, so thanks for all of the advice already posted.

Just curious on thoughts on roku vs fire. Does roku allow you to out kodi on it? Also, would a player be better on main tv with a stick on the others?

Not sure about Roku. I am sure it does. I do know the side loading Kodi on the firestick/TV takes less than 5 minutes to do and very easy.

Also, for a main tv with surround sound use the full version, in bedrooms without surround sound use stick.

I don't think you can put kodi on a roku, from what I understand the firestick/tv is the only one that you can easily load kodi on. Kodi can be loaded on the apple tv versions 1&2 but not as easily.

If you see tvmc referenced, it is a build of kodi that has a bunch of the channels already installed, which saves you a lot of time.

Here is a video on how to install kodi/tvmc on a firestick/tv.

Instead of downloading the kodi gotham.apk file, get the tvmc-gotham.apk file here.

This is a pretty good forum to check out for anyone cutting the cord. TVMC page It has a bunch of add on channels for kodi.
