When all his peers, fellow soldiers, all of them, state he deserted his post, that is all I need. I do not need a bunch of attys or politicians to tell me what happened. And Obama will never permit him to be executed. Good for the Army. This comes as a big surprise to many, general consensus being that the White House would push it aside long enough till it went away.

only way he deserves death penalty is if his abandoning post directly lead to the death of another soldier. I do not know the story but if that is the case he absolutely deserves death
