I'm going to go to free weights and do triceps before I work my chest

I started lifting about a month ago and this is a new trend that started on Thursday

this is just my humble opinion, but i would build up a little more strength before going to free weights. i feel like it's much easier to have bad form and develop bad habits with the free weights. if you're gonna bench, the smith machine (what you're using) is probably best to start out

I had the same issue. Do bar bell press and arch your back some. Really concentrate on form and feel your chest contact with each rep. Super set it with some push ups to help. Also, cable flys wil burn like a beast if you do it right and go slow and really feel the burn.

Get off the Smith machine, my friend. You need to allow for free range of motion, IMO.

Remove the smith machines. If you want strong triceps use board presses, floor presses, close grip bench and with a spotter use a reverse grip. Personally I find the reverse grip and dips work best for me for triceps
