The current trajectory of the 3 teams fighting for the 8 seed has them all falling short of 50. OKC is .667 in just the games that KD has played in, if you project that over their remaining 38 games, that gets them to 47 wins, so even grading OKC on a curve they don't hit 50. Obviously a team hitting a streak can change the equation, but it looks like 50 is going to be a hard mark to hit for all 3 of the teams chasing the 8 seed.

A quick run by any one of those team would change their trajectory. I would never count out the Thunders post all-star break. They are more likely to reach 50 wins compared to the Pelicans.

While I definitely see what you're saying of everyone falling short of 50 I absolutely believe that both OKC and PHX are capable of getting really hot and making a strong run in the second half of the season

The Spurs will get healthy and start winning more games and the Mavs will start figuring things out better (Rondo joined the team but only a month ago) and win a few more too

I think it'll take 49, 50, maybe even as high as 52 wins (well 52 may be a little high)

Crazy thing is that I still believe we can reach 50 wins...guess I'm a sunshine pumper
