it's all about the beats and/or the samples used
listen to pete rock, and then check out mark farina's take on his stuff
madlib and all his projects. spend a day with this guy and tell me it isn't music
the freestyles, screw and the screwed up click, wu-tang, RZA, etc. all that shite is absolutely music.
don't care for most of the stuff you'll hear on the local 'rap' station. also don't care for country but im not dull enough to say it isn't music.
