I do think something is going on here, as the Patriots were the one spear heading the use our own balls movement, but what exactly that is I have no idea. I do know they have a history of breaking rules to give them a slight advantage, and history typically sticks with you causing people to not give you the benefit of doubt.
If no discernable benefit can be determined, than it's probably a simple case of they like the way the ball feels at that level. Discipline them for being repeat offenders of breaking rules, but let's not act like they made the balls remote control going in whichever direction they wanted it to.
