That's a tough question, because there's a huge quality gap between some of these actors' best and worst roles. I'll give it a shot, though.

Numbers 1 and 2 are easy:
1. DDL
2. Nicholson

After that, it gets tricky:
3. Duvall (although he's fallen off in a major way over the past 20 or so years)
4. Hopkins
5. Freeman

I'd switch Nicholson and DDL, but this is good. They are in a tier by themselves. I'd say Freeman is far below Hopkins too. A tier all to himself.

Nicholson is underrated, even by some folks who recognize him as a good or very good actor.
