Thanks nurse. It was the right thing to do, but it was so difficult. He was diagnosed with spleen cancer about 2 months ago and took a turn for the worse last weekend. It would've only gotten worse and he was in a lot of pain.

I've never had to put a pet down. That has to be a very difficult thing to do. I know I would be a wreck the day I have to do that to my dog. It's such a shame that dogs don't live longer.


I saw something online about a 6 year old that explained why a dog doesn't live as long as people.

Sorry buddy... 14 years is a long time. That had to hurt. But deep down he is in a better place and no more suffering..... My pups are almost two and It would crush me to have to take a step like that....
