no, these people are obsessed with dogs, elevate them to human status, maybe higher, neglect other things to network with other dog weirdos, hard to explain but if you run across any of them you'll know
by that definition, I've met several. I've got one friend who is big into dog rescue. She definitely would qualify. And yeah, shes a little odd when it comes to her dogs. She doesn't elevate them to human status, but she's will risk life and limb to protect a dog.

Didn't know if some thought I was because I dressed up Butters for Halloween(looking at you yankeeundercover)

one of the ones I met, smoking hot body btw, almost completely tatted up, quit her job to devote her life to dog "rescue," drives a suburban that she had custom painted with all of the dog rescue pics and slogans

the one i'm referencing will stop traffic to pick up a dog. And she actually got out of my truck one night at a gas station to go pick up three stray cats that were in the dumpster out back. Of course she couldn't catch them- which was good as I wasn't going to let her put them in my truck- but she went back four nights in a row with a trap to catch them. I think she got about twice as many as she thought.

My mutt's wasn't as comprehensive. Still pretty impressive muttology. (I didn't buy the test kit. Was a gift.)

I used to belong to a meetup hiking group for people with their dogs...leader of group was one of "those" and many people in the group as well. I don't hike with them anymore. They would talk about their dog's upcoming birthday parties.
we used to go to the pug meet ups in chaparral park.
but whenever we take our pug hiking he gets all lazy and winds up in my backpack after 30 minutes.
