That was an epic race, can't imagine seeing it in person. My first Cup race was Jeff's Million Dollar Date Win at the Southern 500 in 97. That was also the race Dale was "abducted by aliens."

No one thought Dales wreck was that bad, I knew a lot of ppl who had years around the sport and none of them thought it was bad and neither did i. Sadly, we weren't aware of how dangerous the sport had become til that point even though Kenny Irwin/Adam Petty/ and others should've told us.

I still remember seeing it like it was yesterday, while the wreck wasn't really a bad wreck, everyone that was watching it at my house knew it was extremely bad when they saw Kenny go up to the car like he did...

Sucks Jeff is leaving, but I pretty much stopped watching in recent years. I wasn't a fan of the chase and definitely hate the playoff system.
