I honestly think the MLS is starting to play with fire.
The system worked when it was a league off on its own. But now that its is starting to show up and grabbing attention here or there around the world. The structure it has that worked to establish the league are now becoming its flaws.
I really hope they don't strike. It would set the league back and make it look very bad.
In Europe you have players at clubs sometimes throw fits but not the entire league.

It is getting to a point where something has to give. You can't be a Richard Eckersley making 87k in Toronto, while Giovinco gets 7m, and listen to MLS say we can't afford a significant increase. It just doesn't sit well with the rank and file. I get they are trying to avoid NASL, Cosmos, etc. redux, but there has to be some sort of free agency involved without collapsing the league.
