ughhh.
MLS needs to just let clubs operate on their own.
No more Lampard saga
no more up in arms a fringe Juve player is going to make 7 mil a year
No more making up allocation rules
etc, etc etcccc

Michael Bradley has made one of the strongest statements yet from any player when it comes to the current collective bargaining negotiations between MLS and the MLS Players Union.
Speaking to ESPNFC.com at the annual MLS Media Day, the Toronto FC midfielder said free agency is "absolutely" an issue worth going on strike over, though he emphasized he remained hopeful a work stoppage wouldn't be necessary.
"The goal is to find a new agreement, one that works for the league and one that works for the players," he said. "Nobody is sitting here right now saying to themselves, 'We want a work stoppage.' That's not the end goal for anybody."
But he added that the union membership is firm in its belief that changes need to be made. The union has been very public with its intention to seek greater freedom of movement for its players, and higher salaries, especially for the rank and file.

MLS has long contended that free agency would undermine its ability to compete on the international player market, and thus compromise the cost certainty and single entity structure that it says has been the foundation of the league.

Bradley can afford to strike, but some like... Connor Lade can't. They don't have the rank and file wealthy enough to strike.

Im not sure how the league works but why not let the league pay for the players( pay the transfer fee and a bounus/lump sum) then have a free agency type systems for the teams buying from the league where they pay only the salary?

If they strike, the league is dead.

Orlando City GK Tally Hall goes in depth on MLS CBA talks. Does no free agency mean work stoppage? Bluntly: "Yes."
