Research various services and find the best one based on pricing and reviews?

I mean, how do you buy anything?

I'm guessing you've never "shopped" for lawn services.

Either they're one of the big ones (Scott's, TruGreen, etc) and they get crappy reviews, or they're a small outfit and have none. And like I said, nearly everyone in the neighborhood uses the same service because it was provided free for one year by the builder.

But, thanks for your contribution.

I have. Otherwise I wouldn't have posted in this lazy thread.

Research doesn't just mean using the internet. Ask around and see what different people are getting charged. Do you have any friends in that town?

I'm a TruGreen customer. I'm generally satisfied but they could be better. First of all, the guy who comes out and makes the applications is a buffoon. I quiz him on the reg and frequently catch him contradicting what he's told me previously. Also, I recently got them to admit that their applications do not have any effect on some of the sturdier lawn weeds.
