You must have watched a different second half. Quarterman a "ball hog"? He was the primary ball handler 3/4 of the game. The structure of LSU's offense isn't terribly efficient and doesn't create a lot of good looks on its own in half court sets. LSU relies on guys making individual plays for themselves and their teammates. TQ did that last night. He was 5-7 from the field and had 8 assists! Plus, he's LSU's best FT shooter. You want that guy to have the ball in his hands as much as possible.

LSU might have two great big men, but Mickey struggles in his back to the basket game and Martin isn't an aggressive scorer. Someone has to be. On a lot of nights Hornsby has been that guy.

Great win last night. Very very sound basketball. I was not expecting a win honestly, but this team made me eat crow. Hopefully, they keep it going.

I really wonder what's going on with Big Elbert though. Was the WVU game the last time he's played? Are the hangups the staff has about him physical, mental or both? Seems like we could use him to eat up fouls at least.

Maybe I should say Quarterman is all around the ball on offense and defense. He seems to play within himself. Hornsby throws up the three pointer when we need to ice the clock. Gray is just not ready. LSU doesn't seem in sync, but the big guys need to move more, to give the guards some chances to penetrate. M/M are getting some looks but it seems most of it is clean up. We have a hard time getting it inside.
