In college at LSU back in the 80's, I met a girl I fell in love with INSTANTLY. Only time it's ever happened to me in my entire life, and I know she liked me, too.
I asked her out. She had a boyfriend in New Orleans. She wasn't looking to change horses.
A few months later, I asked her out again. Same deal. Gave up.
Now, she had a boyfriend, but I can't help thinking I could have fought harder for her. I should have fought harder.
If it's one thing that experience taught me it's that if I want something bad enough, I need to go fricking get it. When it comes to love, fight for the one you want. Married people? Forget it. But boyfriend I don't know? frick that guy.
