My SO read them too and the main girl sounded like a selfish, ignorant, brat who was impossible to like as a character. She had to force herself to finish the series b/c she hated that girl so much. She actually would get pissed at dumb shite like the girl calling her vagina her "sex".

Ana could get annoying, but it wasn't all that bad. The worst part in the series for me was the first book when he removed her tampon.
