Crating is the only answer.
Make sur eto take him out last thing and immediately upon return. He'll get the idea.

Yeah that's obvious but just want to know he will be alright in there all day except around lunch

This... and use a key word when he's doing his business... I used "hurry" as in go hurry, they'll get the message...
