I love speculation.

Do you have a reason for thinking this or are you just shitting on MLS again? If he plays well enough I don't see any reason why they wouldn't call him up. Balotelli gets call ups for Christ's sake and it's not like he's been tearing it up in any league. Keane gets regular call ups with Ireland, and Beckham still got time with England. Playing for TFC didn't stop Julio Cesar from being Brazil's starter. Cubo Torres didn't get a sniff with the mex team til he started beasting it in MLS.

Italy won't be calling him up unless he is on a tear.

Keane of course he still gets called up. Most their national team plays their club ball around the same level.

Beckham left MLS on loan to try and fight for a national team spot. B.c they wanted him at a higher level. Its why Defoe was left out.

Uh, no. Keane starts ahead of strikers Jonathan Walters, Shane Long, and Kevin Doyle--all English Premier League starters. He also starts ahead of Celtic striker Anthony Stokes. Keane plays because they know his quality and see that he's still doing well in MLS.

With that said, Giovinco is being paid WAY too much. But, this could be very good for the league. Another guy that isnt yet 30, in his prime, leaving a big team in Europe to come to MLS and he's an Italian national teamer? It gives us gravitas we've always lacked. Only part that sucks is the pricetag.

To be fair, I think proximity plays a part. These European national team coaches won't be able to see many of the games in MLS. Cubo doesn't have that issue, and he'll get more exposure in Houston.
