Giovinco wasn't going to get anywhere near this type deal in Europe and he has seemed to prefer to not to play for a Serie A side other than Juve. However, I'm still surprise the deal actually went through.
Yea no one in Europe was going to pay him even half of this. He wont be getting anymore national team call ups.

Toronto has a very large Italian American population which I imagine comprises a notable percentage of their (prospective) fan base so I suppose that may have been motivation to "overpay" to attract him.
Most the Italians players go to the Impact

I love speculation.
Do you have a reason for thinking this or are you just shitting on MLS again? If he plays well enough I don't see any reason why they wouldn't call him up. Balotelli gets call ups for Christ's sake and it's not like he's been tearing it up in any league. Keane gets regular call ups with Ireland, and Beckham still got time with England. Playing for TFC didn't stop Julio Cesar from being Brazil's starter. Cubo Torres didn't get a sniff with the mex team til he started beasting it in MLS.
